Norton Atlas and Atlas GT expected in India at around ₹6 lakh

Illustration generated by Turbo Truth.

The Norton Atlas and Atlas GT are expected to launch in India in the final months of this year or in early 2027. India prices are expected at around ₹6 lakh for the Atlas and ₹6.5 lakh for the Atlas GT, both ex-showroom.

Price and variants

The Atlas is expected at around ₹6 lakh and the Atlas GT at around ₹6.5 lakh, ex-showroom. These are expected figures, not announced prices. In the UK, the Atlas GT starts at £8,250. Globally the Atlas family is offered in four derivatives: Atlas, Atlas Apex, Atlas GT and Atlas GT Apex.

Where it is built and sold

Norton developed both motorcycles at its Solihull base in the UK, and TVS manufactures them at Hosur in Tamil Nadu. The first Atlas rolled off the Hosur lines midway through this year, and the initial motorcycles are set for export markets. Sales are more likely to be handled through TVS Paddock, TVS's upcoming high-end retail format.

Engine and performance

Power comes from a 585 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin with a 270-degree crank. It makes 70 hp at 9,300 rpm and 57.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm, through a six-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter.

The Atlas is the adventure version, with a 19-inch front wheel, 180 mm of suspension travel at both ends, 220 mm ground clearance, an 845 mm seat and a kerb weight of 188 kg without fuel. The Atlas GT runs 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends and has a lower 810 mm seat.

Features

  • Bosch six-axis IMU with lean-sensitive ABS
  • Traction control, slide control and wheelie control
  • Launch control and hill hold assist
  • Cornering cruise control
  • 8-inch TFT display
  • Keyless ignition and a USB-C charging port
  • Dual-projector LED headlamps with cornering lights
  • Fully adjustable KYB inverted fork and rear monoshock

What it means for buyers

If the expected prices hold, a Norton-badged 585 cc twin with this electronics package would sit near the ₹6 lakh mark. The Atlas suits riders who want the taller adventure stance, while the Atlas GT, with its lower seat and 17-inch wheels, is the easier fit for shorter riders. Final prices and the launch date are still to be confirmed.
