Honda ADV160 deliveries delayed to 2027 for Indian buyers

Honda has pushed ADV160 deliveries from the earlier October timeline to after the New Year, meaning buyers who booked the scooter now have to wait into 2027. Pre-bookings remain open, so this mainly affects customers who were expecting to take delivery this year.

ADV160 deliveries move beyond October

Honda had originally said ADV160 deliveries would begin in October after opening pre-bookings last month. The company’s website now says deliveries will commence after the New Year, which points to January 2027 as the earliest possible start.

The ADV160 is Honda’s entry into this scooter segment in India and will be sold through both BigWing and RedWing dealerships. That wider network was expected to make it easier for buyers to access compared with some rivals.

Why Honda may be facing production pressure

Honda has not officially confirmed the reason for the delay. However, localising production and scaling up manufacturing for several new India products appears to be a challenge, with Honda planning local manufacturing for all ten two-wheelers showcased in July.

For buyers, the important point is that this is a delivery delay rather than a change to the pre-booking programme. The ADV160 is still open for bookings, with the booking amount remaining Rs 5,000.

ADV160 takes on Aerox 155 and Xoom 160

The ADV160 is positioned against the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160. Both rivals have more limited dealership availability, with the Aerox sold through Yamaha Blue Square outlets and the Xoom 160 through Hero Premia dealerships.

Honda’s decision to offer the ADV160 through BigWing and RedWing outlets gives potential owners a broader route to sales and service. That could matter for buyers outside the largest cities, provided the rollout happens as planned.
