BMW M 1000 RR, M 1000 R and XR Nurburgring Edition details

BMW is marking the Nurburgring anniversary with three limited-run M motorcycles: the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R and M 1000 XR. Each will be restricted to 100 units worldwide, with the bikes expected to arrive in late 2027. For Indian buyers, the bigger question is whether BMW Motorrad will bring any of these editions here and at what price.

Nurburgring Edition design details

All three motorcycles get an exclusive Nurburgring green colour scheme and several common anniversary details. The fuel tank carries a silhouette of the Nordschleife, while the airbox cover gets anniversary graphics. Black rear frames and swingarms, Alcantara-look seats with “100” embroidery and carbon wheels with Nurburgring green graphics are also part of the package.

The standard equipment is also focused on collectors and track users. Every bike gets an M Track package, a certificate of authenticity and a Nurburgring anniversary motorcycle mat. A rear assembly stand with a mounting pin is included as well.

M 1000 RR, M 1000 R and XR

The M 1000 RR is the most track-focused of the three, with an engine that has competed in the World Superbike and FIM Endurance World Championship. Its aerodynamic package is intended for high-speed track riding, and the M Cover kit comes as standard.

The M 1000 R applies the same limited-edition treatment to BMW's performance naked bike. It combines its high-performance engine, race-developed chassis and electronic assistance systems with the anniversary design, while also getting the M Cover kit for track preparation.

The M 1000 XR takes a different approach by combining long-distance ergonomics with performance-focused technology. BMW says it is intended for strong performance over long distances while retaining the ability to tackle demanding circuits such as the 12.9-mile Nordschleife.

India availability and price

Pricing has not been announced for any of the three editions, and BMW Motorrad has not confirmed an Indian launch. With only 100 examples of each motorcycle planned worldwide, availability could be the main issue even before buyers start comparing prices.

For Indian enthusiasts, there is little to act on yet. The key things to watch are whether BMW confirms India availability and how the limited allocation is handled when these motorcycles arrive in late 2027.
