Lexus NX facelift India launch date and what buyers get

Lexus has revealed the 2026 NX facelift, giving its second-generation luxury SUV updated styling, cabin changes and revisions to its hybrid powertrain range. For Indian buyers, the bigger question is what this update means for the NX already sold here and whether Lexus will bring the facelift to India.

What changes on the outside

The NX retains its familiar overall shape, but Lexus has redesigned the front end with a frameless spindle-shaped grille integrated into the body. The headlights are also slimmer, with revised LED daytime running lights.

At the rear, the facelift gets L-shaped tail-lamps extending across the tailgate, along with illuminated LEXUS lettering. Lexus has also added new exterior colour options, while the F Sport version gets a different finish.

Hybrid powertrain gets an update

The biggest mechanical changes are focused on the NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid. Lexus says the updated version gets more power, a larger battery and a longer claimed electric-only driving range. It also continues with all-wheel drive.

The NX 350h remains part of the range, with Lexus making changes to its hybrid battery and retaining front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions. Exact specifications and equipment can vary by market, so Indian buyers should not assume that every feature shown internationally will make it here.

Cabin and equipment

Inside, the facelift brings a revised technology package centred around a large touchscreen and digital driver display. Lexus also offers advanced driver-assistance systems and powered, heated front seats.

Higher-spec versions can add equipment such as ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, head-up display, heated rear seats and a Mark Levinson audio system. Trim availability will depend on the market.

What it means for Indian buyers

There is no confirmed India launch date for the facelift yet. The current NX 350h is already sold in India, so buyers considering one now should treat the 2026 facelift as a future possibility rather than assuming the updated SUV is already headed to showrooms.

If Lexus confirms the facelift for India, the key questions will be its timing, specification and positioning against the existing NX. Until then, buyers who need an SUV this year have to weigh the current model against waiting for the update.
