Kia Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG launched in India

Kia has launched factory-fitted CNG variants of both the Carens and the Carens Clavis in India. The Carens CNG is priced at Rs 12.12 lakh and the Carens Clavis CNG at Rs 12.39 lakh, both ex-showroom. The launches come just days after Kia unveiled the two CNG models alongside the Sorento's India debut.

Which trim gets the CNG option

Kia has kept the CNG choice deliberately narrow on both cars. On the Carens, the factory-fitted CNG is available only on the Premium (O) trim. The Carens Clavis takes a different approach and offers CNG on its entry-level HTE and HTE (O) trims instead.

How much more do you pay over petrol

Both CNG variants carry a premium of Rs 1 lakh over their equivalent petrol-manual counterparts. So the Carens CNG at Rs 12.12 lakh sits Rs 1 lakh above the Carens Premium (O) petrol-MT, and the Carens Clavis CNG at Rs 12.39 lakh is Rs 1 lakh more than the Clavis HTE petrol-MT.
