Why the Golf GTI Still Stands Out

The interesting part is that the Golf GTI is built around the driving experience rather than the usual luxury-car checklist. Its sharp steering, strong handling and 2.0-litre TSI engine give it a driver-focused character, while its understated design keeps it relatively low-key.

It also does not require illegal speeds to be enjoyable. The appeal is more about how connected the car feels and the involvement it offers on a good road.
