Renault E-Space concept MPV launch details and platform specs

Renault just revealed the E-Space concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, pointing toward a possible electric MPV comeback for the iconic nameplate. This new concept revives the brand design philosophy focusing on human experience and everyday family life, and it affects anyone tracking future electric family haulers.

Exterior design of the Renault E-Space concept

The exterior styling brings back retro-modern MPV elements, featuring a clean layout designed by Alexandre Malval. At the front, it sports U-shaped LED lighting elements on a blanked-off grille with an illuminated floating Renault logo. The heavily raked windscreen extends smoothly toward the bonnet.

In profile, the concept rolls on massive 24-inch alloy wheels and includes a large glasshouse for maximum natural light. The overall dimensions measure 4.70 metres long, 2.02 metres wide and 1.67 metres tall, keeping ratios similar to the original 1984 model.

Interior layout and seating features

Inside, the cabin aims to maximise space with a three-row, six-seater configuration and vibrant pop interior colors. The setup includes the following practical elements:

  • OpenR Panorama display spanning the entire dashboard width
  • Yoke-style steering wheel operating on a steer-by-wire system
  • Folding tables mounted on the front-row seatbacks
  • Second-row seats that fold flat to form a table for the third row

Platform and expected electric range

Renault has not yet confirmed exact powertrain specifications for the concept, but future production versions are likely to use the upcoming RGEV Medium 2.0 platform. This 800-volt architecture is designed to support saloons, SUVs and MPVs, with a manufacturer-claimed WLTP range of up to 750km.

Would you consider an electric MPV over a traditional three-row SUV for family road trips?
