Ultraviolette BIGGA factory capacity and 2027 scooter roadmap

Ultraviolette has announced a new manufacturing facility in Hosur that will serve as the production base for its upcoming electric two-wheelers, directly relevant to anyone tracking the brand's next moves in the Indian EV market. The company is scaling up significantly, with a clear roadmap now attached to brick-and-mortar capacity.

Where the BIGGA Factory sits

The new plant is located at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Shoolagiri, Hosur, with land facilitated by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Hosur made sense for Ultraviolette because of its established automotive ecosystem and its proximity to the company's Bengaluru research and development base and supplier network.

The facility carries the name BIGGA Factory, standing for Big Global Ambition. It will run alongside the existing Bengaluru facility rather than replacing it.

What the production numbers look like

The capacity figures here are serious for a brand that has operated at relatively small volumes until now.

How the plant will be built and run

Ultraviolette says the Hosur facility will use modern production methods to ensure build quality at scale. The assembly lines will feature real-time production tracking, collaborative robots for sorting, welding and assembly, and vision-based inspection systems. Every vehicle built here will also be evaluated on a dedicated on-site test track before dispatch.

The 2027 roadmap and what it signals

Alongside the factory announcement, the company shared a product roadmap image showing silhouettes of two new products planned for 2027. One silhouette points to a new motorcycle variant, while the other shows a scooter with a rounded, family-oriented profile, very different from the Tesseract. This family scooter direction would place Ultraviolette squarely in the mainstream segment, competing against players like Ather, Simple Energy, TVS, Bajaj, and Vida. No specifications or further launch timelines have been shared for either 2027 model.
