JSW Jetour T2 SUV India Launch, Price And PHEV Details

JSW Motors is preparing its first passenger SUV for India, and the latest test mule gives a clearer idea of what is coming. Based on the Jetour T2, this SUV will use a plug-in hybrid setup and will be assembled at the company's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant in Maharashtra.

Jetour T2 design for India

The test vehicle appears closely related to the Jetour T2 sold overseas. The tail-lights, roof rails and wheels follow the same basic design, while an Indian design patent indicates that most of the T2's styling could remain, with Jetour branding replaced by JSW Motors branding.

The cabin has not been seen yet, so there is still no confirmed Indian feature list. The global T2 has equipment such as a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 540-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, Sony surround sound, ambient lighting, wireless charging and a powered tailgate, but it is not confirmed which of these will come to the JSW SUV.

The expected plug-in hybrid system is based on the Jetour T2 i-DM. It combines a 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine with a 26.7kWh battery and two electric motors. One motor drives the front axle, while the other is integrated with the gearbox for starting assistance and torque fill during shifts.

The JSW SUV's own electric and combined range figures have not been announced, so the global T2 numbers should not be treated as confirmed India specifications.

Expected price and launch timing

The SUV is expected to cost around Rs 38 lakh to Rs 40 lakh ex-showroom. At that level, it will be positioned against models such as the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron, while its expected power output would give it a notable advantage over ICE SUVs in this price bracket.

An earlier September launch timeline has been indicated, but JSW Motors has not officially announced a date. More recent reports point to January 2027 for the company's first passenger vehicle, so buyers should wait for the official launch confirmation before making plans.
