Hyundai Bayon exterior and interior sketches preview India launch

Hyundai has released the first official exterior and interior design sketches of its upcoming Bayon SUV. This new model will sit right between the popular Venue and the larger Creta in the company's growing Indian lineup. It offers a glimpse into the next phase of the brand's styling approach for our market.

Hyundai Bayon shows a new styling direction

The initial sketches show a significant evolution in design compared to the current cars on sale. Hyundai is focusing on a sharper and more athletic stance for the Bayon. The front end gets a prominent grille that stretches across the bumper, paired with a split headlamp arrangement that has become a signature look for modern SUVs. The main headlight units are positioned lower down, while slim daytime running lights sit just beneath the bonnet line to create a wide and aggressive face.

Moving to the side and rear, the sketches highlight strong character lines and a distinctive window shape. The rear profile is defined by arrow-shaped taillights that are connected by a thin horizontal light band. This element not only makes the car look wider from the back but also gives it a unique identity at night.

Interior layout and cabin feel

Inside the cabin, the sketches reveal a clean and minimalist layout. The dashboard is designed around horizontal lines that run across the width of the interior to enhance the feeling of space. A large touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage, positioned high on the dashboard for better visibility while driving.

The design also includes a digital instrument cluster that flows neatly into the rest of the dashboard layout. The overall focus seems to be on reducing physical clutter and creating a more modern, tech-focused environment for the driver and passengers.

Positioning a new SUV between the Venue and the Creta is a strategic move to capture buyers who want more space than a compact SUV but have a strict budget. While official specifications are not out yet, buyers considering an upgrade this year can expect a few key characteristics based on this placement:
