Honda has finally put a date on the calendar for its first fully electric passenger car in India. The 0 Alpha SUV will make its India debut on December 2, 2026, filling the gap left after the City facelift, ZR-V hybrid and Elevate facelift kept the brand busy this year.
Honda 0 Alpha India debut date
Honda has confirmed December 2, 2026 as the date for the SUV’s India debut. It is important to note this is the launch event, not the day customers can walk into a showroom. The production version buying date has not been announced yet, so there may be a gap between the reveal and actual sales. Owners should keep an eye on booking updates after the event.
What the spy shots show
Test vehicles have been spotted in Manali and near the Tapukara facility since earlier this year. The production model is expected to draw heavily from the 0 Alpha concept shown at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2025.
- Upright body with a tall roofline and boxy appearance
- Closed-off front with rectangular lighting elements
- Large landscape touchscreen and separate digital cluster
- Touch-based climate controls inside the cabin
Battery range and manufacturing
Reports suggest battery packs around 60 kWh or 70 kWh with a single front motor. A claimed range of more than 400 km is anticipated, though these figures are estimates and not final. Honda plans to build it at Tapukara for both Indian customers and export markets. Durability and ride quality are being tested across different weather conditions.
Why India matters to Honda
Honda recently cancelled several EV programmes in North America including the 0 SUV and 0 Saloon. The fact that the 0 Alpha project is continuing highlights how important the Indian market remains for the company. It is the first fully electric passenger car they are bringing here. This decision comes after a reassessment of electric vehicle programmes in North America earlier in 2026.
