Stellantis has confirmed a fresh investment of Rs 4,000 crore under a roadmap named Fastlane 2030, bringing a combined offensive of 12 new and upgraded Citroen and Jeep models to the Indian market over the next three years. This major product blitz aims to turn around low buyer interest for both brands through a diverse mix of body styles, powertrains, and improved customer experience at dealerships.

Jeep midsize SUV and new product lineup

Jeep plans five new model launches spanning the B-segment, C-segment, D-segment, and a D-segment pickup truck to diversify its current local footprint of the Compass, Meridian, Grand Cherokee, and Wrangler. The upcoming lineup includes an electric Jeep and a midsize SUV based on the Tata Sierra platform, which is expected to arrive in the first half of 2028 with both combustion and electric options. Brand executives aim to retain four-wheel-drive capability as a core DNA element across the portfolio while studying local and global partnership options to manage development costs.

Citroen CNG and upcoming vehicle launches

Citroen has seven new launches planned as part of the product offensive, which will include an MPV and an A-segment car alongside a broader push into CNG offerings. The brand is also focusing on cost-competitive showroom formats and dealer-led marketing to improve buyer engagement after learning from early market feedback. Localisation remains a key pillar, with existing models like the C3 and Basalt achieving high local parts integration including engines and transmissions.

Powertrain choices and Leapmotor status

  • Offering internal combustion engines, hybrids, EVs, and CNG options
  • Evaluating external suppliers and free trade agreements for powertrains
  • Delaying the Leapmotor Chinese EV brand entry until a solid business case is proven
  • Targeting improved customer service and showroom formats across dealerships

Are you willing to wait for these upcoming Jeep and Citroen models or looking at other brands right now?
