Kawasaki Teryx KRX4 1000 price and India ownership details

Kawasaki has brought its side-by-side range to India, including the four-seat Teryx KRX4 1000. At Rs 52.9 lakh, this is aimed at buyers looking for a dedicated off-road machine rather than something that can replace a normal road-going SUV.

Kawasaki Teryx KRX4 1000 power and hardware

The Teryx KRX4 1000 uses a 999cc parallel-twin engine producing 110hp at 8,300rpm and 102Nm at 7,000rpm. It gets a CVT gearbox, selectable two-wheel and four-wheel drive, electric power steering and 15-inch wheels with Maxxis Carnivore tyres.

The suspension setup uses long-travel Showa units with adjustable damping. The published drive experience also highlighted how much punishment the chassis and suspension can take over steep climbs, rocky sections, jumps and loose surfaces.

What the Kawasaki range costs

Kawasaki's India SxS line-up covers very different uses, from utility work to recreational off-roading. The range includes the Teryx 4 H2, Teryx KRX 1000, Teryx KRX4 1000, Ridge Crew and Mule Pro-FXT 1000 LE.

  • The range starts at Rs 38 lakh
  • The range goes up to Rs 78.90 lakh
  • Teryx KRX4 1000 costs Rs 52.9 lakh
  • The KRX4 has four seats

This is the biggest practical point for Indian buyers. The Teryx KRX4 1000 is not street legal, so it is intended for private properties, farms and dedicated off-road parks rather than normal road use. It is also left-hand drive, which matters less for its intended environment but confirms that this is not a conventional Indian road vehicle.

Kawasaki Teryx KRX4 1000 fuel and ownership

The KRX4 is not E20-compatible, so owners using it in remote locations will need to plan their petrol supply accordingly. Kawasaki says it will support customers with maintenance, but storage, transport, fuel availability and access to suitable off-road land are all part of the ownership equation.

For someone considering one, the price is only part of the calculation. The bigger question is whether there is enough private or organised off-road use available to justify a machine that cannot be used on public roads.

Would you consider a Rs 52.9 lakh off-road-only machine like the Teryx KRX4 1000?
