Volvo XC40 gets new safety tech and a bigger 11.2-inch screen
Volvo has updated the XC40 along with the EX40 and EC40, bringing changes to the front-end design, cabin technology and safety equipment. For Indian buyers considering the XC40, the bigger infotainment screen, Gemini assistant and expanded driver-assistance hardware are the key changes to watch.
XC40 gets the 11.2-inch screen
The XC40 now gets an 11.2-inch infotainment display, along with an updated wireless phone charger, new upholstery and additional trim choices. The available Arianne Cardamom leather with Brown Ash wood trim is one of the new cabin combinations, while Black Ash and aluminium finishes are also offered.
Google Gemini is also being added, allowing natural-language commands for route planning, finding places and handling messages. Volvo continues to support over-the-air software updates, so some software improvements can be added after delivery.
New radars and parking cameras
The safety hardware has been expanded considerably, with front and corner radars, a front-facing camera, rear corner radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors and updated parking cameras.

The XC40 is currently on sale, with its ex-showroom price listed at approximately ₹44.50 lakh to ₹47.33 lakh depending on the source. Our pooled figure gives the XC40 an owner rating of 3.7/5 from 281 owner ratings.
For an entry-price estimate, the XC40 works out to around ₹52.96 lakh on road in Karnataka and ₹49.84 lakh in Delhi. Those are estimates, not fixed on-road prices, because registration costs vary by state.
EX40 and EC40 continue with long range
The electric EX40 and EC40 remain part of the updated 40-series. Volvo claims up to 575km for the EX40 and up to 584km for the EC40 on a single charge, depending on configuration and testing conditions.
