Yamaha has revealed a fresh colour option for the XSR900 retro-roadster aimed at international markets for the 2027 model year. The update pays homage to the YZF750R supersport from the mid-1990s while leaving the rest of the motorcycle untouched.
Engine specs and platform details
The Yamaha XSR900 shares its core platform and mechanicals with the YZF-R9 middleweight supersport offering. It relies on an 890cc triple-cylinder liquid-cooled motor pushing out 119hp and 93Nm.
- Powered by an 890cc triple-cylinder engine
- Produces 119hp and 93Nm of peak power
- Built on a lightweight aluminium deltabox frame
- Equipped with fully adjustable KYB suspension units
Features and cosmetic updates
For 2027, the mechanical layout and existing Midnight Black paint scheme remain unchanged. Yamaha has replaced the older Heritage White option with a new Neon White colourway that mimics the classic racing livery.
Modern electronics carry over, including a 5-inch TFT display, multiple ride modes, a quickshifter, and all-LED lighting.
Availability and pricing status
Listings for the 2027 model have gone live on the Yamaha UK website without any price figures attached yet. The outgoing 2026 version carried a starting tag of GBP 11,104 which converts to roughly Rs 14.01 lakh.
Indian buyers who prefer this styling have only the smaller R15-based XSR155 option locally, which started at Rs 1.50 lakh last year.
Would you prefer Yamaha to bring the full-size XSR900 to India or stick to smaller displacements?
