BMW F 450 RR Sportbike revealed details for Indian riders

BMW F 450 RR Sportbike revealed details for Indian riders

Illustration generated by Turbo Truth.

BMW has unveiled the F 450 RR, the third motorcycle to join its 420cc platform family. It follows the F 450 GS shown last November and the F 450 R that appeared just two weeks ago. The new sportbike shares the same engine and chassis as its siblings.

Engine and chassis commonality

The F 450 RR uses the same 420cc parallel-twin engine that powers the F 450 GS and F 450 R. BMW says the unit delivers a broad torque curve suitable for both city commutes and weekend rides.

Because the core hardware is common, service intervals and spare‑part availability are expected to mirror those of the existing 450 models. Riders who already own a GS or an R will find familiar maintenance routines.

Built by TVS in Hosur

BMW has entrusted the production of the F 450 RR to TVS Motor Company at its Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu. The facility already builds the F 450 GS and F 450 R for the Indian market.

TVS's experience with small‑capacity engines ensures that quality checks match BMW’s global standards. The partnership continues a trend of European brands leveraging Indian manufacturing for entry‑level motorcycles.

Colour choices available

BMW has announced three colour options for the F 450 RR, continuing the palette used on the other 450 models. The shades are intended to give buyers a choice between understated and bold looks.

  • Midnight Black
  • Storm Grey
  • Racing Red

What to expect next

BMW has not yet announced a firm launch date or pricing for the F 450 RR in India. Interested buyers can keep an eye on official BMW Motorrad channels for updates.

Test rides are likely to be arranged once the bike reaches showrooms, so prospective owners may want to register their interest with local BMW Motorrad outlets.
