Kia Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG pre-bookings now open

Kia India has opened pre-bookings for two new CNG variants of its popular MPV: the Carens CNG and the Carens Clavis CNG. This is the first time Kia has offered a factory-fitted CNG setup in any of its models sold in India. Prices for both variants are expected to be announced by late September or early October 2026.

What makes this different from before

The older Carens was available with CNG, but it was fitted at the dealer level, not at the factory. That distinction matters because a factory-fitted kit typically comes with a full manufacturer warranty and better integration with the car's systems. Kia moving this in-house signals a more serious commitment to CNG as a mainstream option rather than an afterthought.

Two variants, not one

Kia is launching the Carens CNG and the Carens Clavis CNG as separate offerings. The Carens Clavis is the recently updated version of the MPV with a revised look and feature set, so buyers now have the choice of two distinct versions within the CNG lineup. Pricing and variant details for each have not been revealed yet, and it would be wrong to guess figures before Kia makes an official announcement.

That said, wait for official pricing on both the Carens CNG and the Carens Clavis CNG before deciding which of the two suits your budget and needs, because the Clavis variant may carry a meaningful price premium over the standard Carens CNG.
