Hyundai Grand i10 Nios 2030: What We Know So Far

Hyundai has confirmed that a new-generation Grand i10 Nios will come to India by 2030. For buyers who still want a small hatchback rather than moving straight to an SUV, this is important because Hyundai plans to keep the model in its India line-up even as the company adds more SUVs and EVs.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios size could grow

The next Grand i10 Nios is expected to get a noticeably larger footprint, with its length potentially moving close to 3.95 metres. That would put it much closer to the present i20 in overall size.

The extra length could be useful for rear-seat space, which is one area where small hatchbacks have to balance compact dimensions with everyday family use. Hyundai has not yet said whether the i20 and Nios will continue together or whether the larger Nios could eventually take over some of the i20's role.

Petrol and CNG are expected

Hyundai has not announced the engines yet, so there is no confirmed power or mileage figure for the new car. The current direction points towards petrol and CNG continuing, which makes sense for Indian buyers as well as commercial users who depend heavily on running costs.

A CNG automatic is also being considered, although Hyundai has not confirmed it. The final combination of engines and transmissions will depend on emission rules, demand and Hyundai's approach to petrol-powered cars towards 2030.

The new Aura could share its base

The next Grand i10 Nios is expected to provide the basis for a replacement for the Hyundai Aura. That would allow Hyundai to continue offering a compact sedan alongside the hatchback, including a CNG option if demand remains strong.
