Nissan is expanding its lineup with a new 3-row utility vehicle based on the Tekton platform. This upcoming model will be the second vehicle with a third row from the brand in India following the imported X-Trail. Buyers looking at family haulers in this segment should note that the arrival is officially scheduled for 2027.

Exterior styling and dimensions

Testing mules show the upcoming vehicle will feature a noticeably longer body behind the rear wheels compared to the standard 5-seat model. The front end keeps the inverted-L-shaped LED daytime running lights while adopting a refreshed grille and bumper design. At the back, the vehicle drops the C-shaped tail-lamps of the smaller sibling for a boomerang-shaped lighting setup connected by a thick LED light bar.

  • Longer rear quarter-panel and larger rear quarter glass
  • Inverted-L-shaped LED daytime running lamps and headlights
  • Boomerang-shaped tail-lights with a connecting LED light bar
  • Flatter rear windshield layout

Engine and transmission choices

Under the hood, this larger offering is expected to utilize the 1.3-litre four-cylinder direct-injection turbo-petrol engine. It will skip the smaller 1.0-litre motor found in the 5-seat version. Power will go to the front wheels through either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Expected pricing and market rivals

Industry estimates suggest the model will carry an ex-showroom price tag ranging from Rs 18 lakh to Rs 22 lakh when it finally reaches showrooms. Once launched, it will compete directly against established three-row alternatives like the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari, and Hyundai Alcazar.

Are you planning to wait for this 2027 launch or looking at current three-row SUVs?
