Motherson to Invest ₹11,000 Crore in Tamil Nadu Over Five Years; Around 7,000 Jobs Planned

Motherson has committed to invest ₹11,000 crore in Tamil Nadu over the next five years. This investment is expected to generate around 7,000 employment opportunities in the state. The proposed investment will be spread across various operations, including design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and logistics. Motherson plans to establish integrated facilities at strategic locations across Tamil Nadu. The facilities will encompass design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and logistics operations, indicating a broader integrated operating base in the state. The investment is expected to create approximately 7,000 jobs, spanning manufacturing as well as engineering, design, and supply-chain-related functions. Motherson already has a significant presence in Tamil Nadu, with multiple operations in and around the Chennai industrial belt. The fresh investment commitment could represent a substantial expansion of an existing supplier ecosystem rather than Motherson entering the state for the first time.
