By Turbo Truth News Desk

Tata Motors and Stellantis have signed a definitive agreement to expand their partnership into advanced technology and vehicle architecture. This collaboration will see Tata supplying its product technology and vehicle architectures to Stellantis, which will adapt these foundations for different customer needs, regulations and operating conditions. The first product taking shape under this collaboration is a midsize Jeep SUV based on Tata Sierra's ARGOS architecture, codenamed J1J. The SUV will have a distinct body, exterior design and cabin, including changes to seating, features and equipment, and is expected to be available with both internal combustion and electric powertrains. The Jeep SUV will be manufactured in India at Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited, a 50:50 joint venture between Tata and Stellantis. Production operations are expected to be adapted over the next 18 months, with the first vehicle launching in the first half of 2028. The dimensions and engine outputs of the Jeep SUV have not been disclosed in the official release.
