Hyundai Confirms Localised Mass-Market Electric SUV on Dedicated EV Platform for India

Hyundai has confirmed that it will launch a localised, mass-market electric SUV in India, built on a dedicated EV platform. The vehicle, which is expected to arrive by 2027, will be developed for Indian customers and will use a dedicated EV platform. Key details about the upcoming model are not yet available, but it is expected to be a sub-four-metre model positioned below the Creta Electric. The production vehicle is expected to be based on Hyundai-Kia's E-GMP (K) architecture. No official details have been announced regarding the battery capacity, motor output, or certified driving range of the vehicle. However, Hyundai has confirmed that the model will be launched by 2027 and will be positioned as a mass-market electric SUV. Hyundai's expansion of its charging and after-sales infrastructure is also underway, with the company inaugurating new 120kW DC fast-charging stations in New Delhi in partnership with Statiq.
